Happy Easter All!
This morning as I finished listening to Charles Stanley Easter service (see at the bottom of the post), I heard the most amazing trumpet sound. I had no idea where it came from. It started at 8AM and lasted a good few minutes.
I was overwhelmed, I could not explain it. After a quick search, I found the source.
Below is the event.
Turn up the volume!
The Bible mentions the trumpets a number of times as it relates to the crucifixion, resurrection and the return of Jesus Christ. Two stand out to me today.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
The Coming of the Lord
But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.
The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly. Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever! And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying: We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned. The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth. Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.
Since we cannot run around to go to churches or be present on-site when the trumpets sound again, I encourage you, I implore you to join this online event, a sit-in silence when the next two trumpets will sound.
The sound will be broadcast again at 1PM, and 6PM.
I will make sure that I am silent during these times to listen and experience the trumpet sounds as we celebrate Christ's victory over the grave, over sin, over all that is evil.
Will you join me?
